SSC CGL Tier-I Exam City Details, Check Now

SSC CGL Tier-I Exam City Details 2026 have been released by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for candidates appearing in the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026. The Tier-I examination is scheduled to take place from 30 September to 30 October 2026.

The city information is an important update because it gives candidates an early idea of where they will have to travel for the examination. However, candidates should not confuse the exam city information with the final admit card. The detailed admit card and examination-centre information will be provided separately before the examination.

What Does the SSC CGL Exam City Information Tell You?

The exam-city information is mainly intended to help candidates plan ahead.

Once you know the allotted city, you can start checking:

• How far the examination city is from your current location
• Available train, bus or other transport options
• Approximate travel time
• Whether you need accommodation
• How early you should leave for the examination
• Whether traveling on the previous day would be more practical

This is particularly useful for candidates who were allotted a city outside their home district or state.

Important: The exam city information should not be treated as the complete examination-centre address. Candidates should wait for the official admit card for the final venue and reporting instructions.

City Information vs Admit Card. Don’t Mix Them Up (SSC CGL)

This is one of the most important things to understand.

Exam City Information

It helps you know the city in which your examination is expected to take place.

Admit Card

The admit card contains the examination instructions and the specific examination venue/centre details, along with reporting information and other instructions applicable to the candidate.

Therefore, knowing your city does not mean you can automatically go to an examination centre in that city. Wait for the admit card and follow the venue printed on it.

SSC CGL Application Fee

The recruitment information lists the following application fee:

• General / OBC / EWS: ₹100
• Female candidates: No fee
• PH candidates: No fee

Online payment was available through methods including debit card, credit card, internet banking, IMPS and other supported payment options.

SSC CGL Age Limit

As of 1 August 2026, the listed age range is:

• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum: 32 years

12,256 Posts Are Part of the Recruitment

SSC CGL 2026 covers 12,256 vacancies across the recruitment. Candidates who have reached the Tier-I examination stage should now concentrate on their examination preparation rather than relying only on the release of city information.

The city update is primarily a logistical step. Your actual examination performance will be determined by the Tier-I test, followed by the later stages applicable to the recruitment.

What Should You Do After Checking Your City?

A useful order of action is:

Check city → plan travel → wait for admit card → verify centre address → prepare documents → reach the venue on time

The SSC CGL Tier-I Exam City Details 2026 update tells you where you are expected to take the examination at the city level. The next important step is to obtain the admit card and confirm the exact venue before traveling.

Candidates should keep their registration details safely available until the complete SSC CGL recruitment process is over.
